Approach: plan vs system
Tmaxx opens with a free quiz covering sleep, diet and symptoms to estimate where your testosterone might sit, then gives you a personalized habit plan with daily check-ins and charts. Its listing says it avoids pills and injections and focuses on lifestyle changes. Remember the estimate is based on lifestyle answers, not blood work.
THRIVE asks a health questionnaire to personalize your plan but does not give a testosterone number. You choose from 40+ evidence-graded protocols, swipe to complete them, earn XP and climb a Roman legion-inspired rank ladder. The streak counts a day at 80% completion, per the App Store listing.
Feature comparison
- Where Tmaxx is stronger: a quick quiz-based start, a weekly plan option for short commitments, and iPad and Mac support.
- Where THRIVE is stronger: a deeper library of guided protocols, progression mechanics (XP, ranks, heatmaps), Apple HealthKit sync, and a larger public rating base (25 vs 2).
- Where they are similar: both are wellness apps, both are free to download with in-app purchases, and neither replaces medical care.
Pricing
Tmaxx lists a weekly plan at $4.99 and an annual plan at $39.99. THRIVE lists THRIVE Premium options between $9.99 and $35.99. Because plan lengths differ, compare the cost over the period you would actually use the app, and check the cancellation steps in your Apple ID settings.
Who should pick which
| Pick | If you... |
|---|---|
| Tmaxx | want to start from a quiz, like an estimated score as a starting point, or want iPad and Mac support |
| THRIVE | want a daily system with streaks, XP and ranks, and prefer habits to a number |
Whichever you choose, a quiz or an app cannot tell you your real level. For that, see our guide to getting your testosterone tested and the evidence-based guide to supporting testosterone naturally.
