Approach: habit system vs program
TestPeak describes itself as a 30-day plan crafted by experts. You follow a defined month of nutrition guidance, workouts and stress techniques. That is helpful if you want to be told exactly what to do and prefer a start and an end.
THRIVE has no end date. You choose from 40+ evidence-graded protocols across sleep, training, sunlight, cold exposure, nutrition and stress, swipe to complete them, and earn XP toward a rank ladder inspired by the Roman legions. Per the App Store listing, a day counts toward your streak at 80% completion, so one missed habit does not wipe out progress. The thinking behind this is covered in how gamification makes health habits stick.
Feature comparison
- Where TestPeak is stronger: content depth in a single month (recipes, workouts, articles and videos), iPad and Mac support, and a larger rating base (62 vs 25 ratings).
- Where THRIVE is stronger: long-term consistency tools (streaks, XP, ranks, heatmap calendar), Apple HealthKit sync, and no supplement sales pitch.
- Where they are similar: both are wellness apps that say they are not medical advice, and neither measures testosterone.
Pricing
TestPeak lists the widest range: weekly $9.99, monthly $12.99, annual $49.99 (with a discounted annual at $29.99), plus one-off 7-day ($7.99) and 30-day ($8.99) programs. If you only want a single month of guidance, the one-off program may cost less than a subscription.
THRIVE is free to download and lists THRIVE Premium options between $9.99 and $35.99. If price is your main concern, compare the exact plan you would pick on each listing before you decide.
Who should pick which
| Pick | If you... |

| Both, in sequence | start with a 30-day program to learn the basics, then move to a habit system to keep it going |
